IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert Richard
Mallette
October 3, 1948 – November 2, 2023
Albert Richard Mallette, 75, of North Clarendon passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and an abundance of love.
Al was born on October 3, 1948, to Mary and Philip Mallette in Hubbardton, Vermont. As a young man Al entered the Army, his service allowed him to explore many new places and ultimately took him to Vietnam where he proudly fought for his country.
After returning, Al married his first wife, Sheryl Sweeney and went on to have three daughters, Dana, Kathryn, and Bets. Later in life Al married his current wife Patricia Wyle and had his son, Andrew.
Following his time in the army, Al, a farm boy who was never afraid of hard work, was employed at Vermont Structural in Fair Haven. He later spent many years at General Electric in Rutland and then finished his working years at Split Ball bearing, where his kindness and sense of humor garnered him many lasting friendships.
Before losing much of his sight, Al spent most of his time out on the water as an avid bass fisherman, where he mentored many young fishermen and was well respected among the bass fishing community. Later in life, Al was happiest outside with his dogs, who he lovingly cared for, and in the garden and yard planting and tending to his flowers and vegetables. He was a huge football fan and on Sundays happily watched games and cheering on his favorite teams, especially the New England Patriots.
Al was predeceased by his father, his two brothers Philip and Anthony. He is survived by his mother Mary, his sister Phyllis, his wife Patricia, his four children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Edward Kehoe Green Mountain Conservation Camp Endowment Fund or Bayada Hospice.
