Anthony Joseph Mallette Sr. 63, died unexpectedly on Sunday January 17, 2016.
He was born October 22, 1952 in Rutland, the son of Philip D. and Mary (Morrisey) Mallette.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon (Bellew) Mallette of Hydeville, his mother Mary Steves of Fair Haven, his two sons, T.J. (Lisa ) Mallette and Jason (Tanya) Mallette both of Wilton, NY, his sister Phyllis (Cassius) Burlette of Fair Haven, and his brother Albert (Patricia) Mallette of North Clarendon, and his four grandchildren, Christine, Bradley, Trey and Natalie as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony grew up in Hubbardton, VT and was a graduate of Fair Haven High School class of 1970. He was a lifelong resident of the area, working at Seward's Dairy, General Electric, retiring from JCPenney in 2012 to enjoy the next phase of life. He was a former member of the Rutland County Bassmasters. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, maple sugaring, visiting the racetrack, and most of all - attending his grandchildrens sporting events.
He was predeceased by his father Philip David Mallette and a brother Philip Donald Mallette.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 21, 2016 at 12 P.M. at the Ducharme Funeral Home Inc., located at 1939 Main Street, Castleton, with Father Daniel Jordon officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at Noon. Reception immediately following the service at the American Legion on Route 4A in Castleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland County Humane Society at 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763
