Castleton Arthur Nelson Vaughan Arthur Nelson Vaughan 89, died Tuesday Afternoon December 27, 2022 at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born April 17, 1933 in Rutland, VT the son of Leslie and Verlie (Spurling) Vaughan. Arthur was honorably discharged in 1956 from the US Army. He was stationed in Kentucky and was proud of his service days. Arthur married Louise Hendee February 4, 1977 in Castleton, VT. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and NASCAR. He and Louise had many adventures during their marriage taking their camper to NASCAR events and snowmobiling throughout VT in the winter months. Arthur was employed as a Machinist for many years retiring from Williams Machine Shop in Poultney. Survivors are his children Michael C. Vaughan (Kathy) of Fair Haven, Arthur Nelson Vaughan Jr., of Granville, NY and Daniel Richard Vaughan (Sue), of Naples, FL. By his grandchildren, Michael Vaughan of Rutland, VT, Melissa (Ken) Rich, Stephanie (Matt) Austin of Whitehall, NY, Krystle (Eric) Kent of Fair Haven, VT and Rebecca (Kurt) Kluberdanz of Naples, FL. His great grandchildren, Matthew Vaughan, Tyler Shattuck, Sawyer Austin, Brady Kent, Izabella Kent and Thomas Kluberdanz and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, by his wife Louise Vaughan on July 21, 2002, by his daughter Roseanna Shattuck June 20, 2012, by his son-in-law George Shattuck August 23, 2022, by his grandson Ryan S. Vaughan December 15, 2011, by his sister Sybil Collie Warren on March 13, 2022 and by his brother Clem Vaughan in November 30, 2005.
