Fair Haven, Mr. Charles J. Prunier Sr.
Charles J. Prunier Sr. , 87, died Saturday December 31, 2005 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 13, 1918 in Fair Haven, the son of the late Frank E. & Margaret (Bird) Prunier. Charlie attended local schools and was a graduate of Fair Haven High School. He furthered his education at Castleton Teachers College and then taught at the Bump schoolhouse in Benson. He then went to work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford CT where he worked for 35 years. He was part owner of the family business, Pruniers Market for the last 29 years.
Charlie was a veteran having served in the United States Army in the European Theater, In World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mrs. Marjory (Howe) Prunier, three sons, Mr. Charles J. Prunier Jr., of Bomoseen, Mr. William H. Prunier, of Castleton, and David Prunier, of Fair Haven, his one sister, Mary Fish, and by his granddaughter and grandson.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward & Francis Prunier, and a sister Margaret.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 5, 2006 at 11 AM at Our Lady Of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. The Rev. Lawrence Parish priest will officiate.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2006 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Ducharme Funeral Home in Castleton.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Marys Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to the Castleton Community Seniors, Van & disabled Transportation Fund at 2108 Main Street Castleton, Vt 05735
