David Bones Allen Shackett 52, died early Monday morning December 22, 2014 at Indian River Nursing Home in Granville, NY after a battle with cancer. Born January 8, 1962 in Rutland the son of the late Donald Barns Shackett and Shirley Lucy (Moore) Shackett. He attended local schools in the Poultney area. David was a self employed roofer and was an avid hunter, fisherman and also enjoyed trapping. He is survived by his sisters, Diane McCoy of Bomoseen, Donna Galvin of Grafton, Debra Farnham, of Florida and Shirley Mae Vladyka of Benson, by his brothers, Douglas Shackett of Rhode Island, Dennis Shackett of Albany, NY and William Shackett of Fair Haven, also by nieces, nephews and cousins. Also by his close friends Mike Fleury and Carrie Walrath of Poultney. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Donald S. Shackett. There will be no visiting hours or Funeral Service at this time, a memorial service will be held in the spring with a date and time to be announced.
