Obituary

Edith Edie A. Robie 72, died Tuesday April 19, 2016 at her home after a long battle with ALS. She was born in Franklin, New Hampshire the daughter of Charles E. and Ruth (Tibitts) Blanchard. Edith along with her husband Robert owned and operated Mount Independence Farm in Orwell for many years. Edie enjoyed quilting, traveling, making doughnuts, coffee with friends, bird watching, visiting light houses and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Diane Robie of Pittsfield, MA; Cindy Robie and Robin Reed both of Hill, NH; Fred Robie of Orwell, Herbert Robie of Ledyard, CT; and Jackie Lee Seidlitz of Castleton. By her siblings, David C. Blanchard, Charles E. Blanchard Jr., Mary Boulerisse, Ruth McDaniels, Jane Hanson and Barbara Summerall, by her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Robie on April 15, 2014 and by her son Kevin Robie and daughter Suzanne Robie and also by her brother Frank Blanchard. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 22, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at the Fellowship Bible Church, with Pastor John Longaker officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. Memorial contribution may be made to the Fellowship Bible Church building fund at P.O. Box 924, Castleton, VT 05735 or to the ALS Chapter of New England at 10 Ferry Street, Concord, NH 03301.
