Obituary

Everett R. Robbie Robinson 83 died Saturday November 22, 2008 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Born April 3, 1925 in Lacolle, Quebec Canada the son of the late Roy & Janet Lucinda (Campbell) Robinson. Everett was a United States Army veteran having served in the Philippines during WW II. Being honorable discharged Feb. 22, 1946 he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal-American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 50 of Castleton, the V.F.W. Post 648 of Rutland. Everett enjoyed working with his hands. He loved to help his children when they had household projects. He was employed by General Electric retiring in 1985 after 28 years of service in the maintenance Dept. He is survived by his two daughters Patricia Jones & husband Bernard, of Castleton, Sheryl Staples & husband William, of Punta Gorda, FL, two sons, Ted Robinson, of Manchester, NH, Ed Robinson & wife Kathleen, of Monroe, CT. by his sister Marion Jones, of Bonita Springs, Fl, his brother Robert Robinson, of Enfield, CT. By his eight grandchildren, Tony Robinson, Danielle Briand & husband Jean, Scott Robinson, Christa Thurber & husband Joe, William T. Staples Jr., Jessica Cooke & husband Matt, Tegan Jones & Fianc William Ellis and Jonathan Robinson. By his three great-grandchildren, Channing Iannotti, Evan Thurber and Connor Briand, also by several nieces & nephews and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Wynne) Robinson in August 1989 by his sisters, Beatrice Thull and Margaret Melchor. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday November 24, 2008 at 11 AM at the Castleton Federated Church. The Rev. Robert Noble III will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Castleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Castleton Community Center at The Homestead at 2108 Main Street Castleton, VT 05735.
