Gary S. Wetmore 63, died at his residence in Castleton. He was born June 7, 1950 in Proctor, VT the son of the late Harold and Jeanine (LaVictoire) Wetmore. He was a graduate of Proctor High School. Gary entered basic training in the United Stated Army at Fort Dix, NJ and then at Fort Knox for Tank training he served 14 months in Vietnam receiving two purple hearts and also the Bronze Star. He work in Florence at White Pigment Corporation in quality control later Omya. He was a member of the Castleton American Legion Post # 50 and the Rutland American Legion Post # 31 and was an avid reader and dog lover. Survivors are his sister Marla Stapleton and her husband George of Lakehills, TX also by a nephew Lee Stapleton of Lakehills, TX and a niece Rebecca Stapleton Harper of San Antonio, TX. There will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to an American Legion post of one choice.
