Grace L. Steves, 88, died Tuesday October 7, 2014 at Rutland Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born April 1, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Edythe (Wiseburn) Haviland. Mrs. Steves grew up in Whitehall, New York and attended Whitehall Central School. She lived in Port Washington, Long Island, Fort Ann, New York and Fair Haven, Vermont. She was a lifelong member of the Camp Bethel Association. Survivors include her son, Charles Verhoye of Georgia, daughters, Laura (Verhoye) Steves of Massachusetts, Nancy (Verhoye) Hay and Wendy (Steves) Ballard both of Fair Haven, she is also survived by a sister, Doris Giles of Brentwood, CA, and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and cousins. Grace was predeceased by a daughter, Jessie Marchinkowski, a grandson, Paul Woodbury, and a sister, Phyllis Dagner. There will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
