James F. Mainolfi 72, died Saturday evening October 10, 2015 at Rutland Regional Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Born June 11, 1943 in Rutland the son of Mario J. and Mary A. (Dziuba) Mainolfi. He was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph, class of 1961 and was also a Graduate of Castleton State College in 1971 with a degree in Chemistry and Biology. James was a United States Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. He married Audrey Bruso May 22, 1965 in Rutland, VT. James was employed by General Electric in Rutland as a chemist and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 31 of Rutland and the D.A.V. , He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, traveling, his dogs and spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Survivors are his wife Audrey (Bruso) Mainolfi of 50 years, two daughters, Carly Cloutier of Ludlow and Andrea Maroto and husband Lou of Portsmouth, RI, by his son Paul Mainolfi and wife Karen of Kalispell, MT, by his five beautiful grandchildren, Holly Cloutier, Katie Cloutier, Bailey Mainolfi, Sydney Mainolfi and Bradley Maroto. Also by his sister Fran Wharton and husband Ken of Milford, MA, by his brother Frank Mainolfi of Rutland and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Anne Bruso. Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 18, 2015 from Noon until the time of the service at 1 P.M. at the Ducharme Funeral Home Inc., located at 1939 Main Street, Castleton. Burial will be held on Monday October 19, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph. The family suggests that memorial contribution may be made to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse and Hospice at 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, Vt 05701.
