Jane Jaunita Briggs 86, died Sunday morning February 4, 2018 at her residence in Fair Haven after a brief illness. She was born September 9, 1931 in Middletown Springs the daughter of Stanley Ebenezer and Lillian M. Colvin. Jane was an avid reader and old western movie fan, enjoyed playing 45, knitting, crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles. Jane started work at the age of 16 for Kay Potters restaurant in Poultney and then also work at The Orvis Company in Manchester for many years. She is survived by her daughters, Lillene Briggs of Fair Haven and Laurie Wiskoski & husband Steve of West Rutland, by her grand children, Lukas and Kaylee Wiskoski both of West Rutland and by her great grandson Brandon Layton and also by her pride and joy Belle. She was predeceased by her husband James Edgar Briggs and by her son James S. Briggs and her siblings, David Hughes, Betty McMahon and Charlene Hughes. A Memorial service will be held on Friday February 9, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 1939 Main street, Castleton. With the Rev. Robert Noble Officiating.
