Poultney-Janet Ackerman Wooster, 89, died January 11, 2022, at The Meadows, Rutland, after a brief illness.
Born June 13, 1932, in Concord, MA, she was the daughter of Clarence C. and Edith V. (Wheeler) Ackerman.
Janet was self employed, "Gifts from the Scrap Bag", sewing and knitting crafts that she sold to gift shops, and then later doing Farmers Markets and craft shows in Rutland, Brandon, and lastly, Poultney. She took care of her folks for 5 years after her dad had a stroke, and then her brother-in-law who had cancer for a year. She enjoyed taking many classes at Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow and was also a graduate of Clown School in 2003. She loved riding around town on her scooter in later years, loving the band concerts on the green in East Poultney.
Survivors include four children, Hope Kennedy (Keith) of Bolton, Holly Boyce (Daniel) of Benson, Heather Ballance (Stan) of N. Carolina, and Loren Wooster of Benson; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and a brother Philip Ackerman (Rena) of Rhode Island, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Oliver H. Hulett of 13 years; husband Loren D. Wooster of 43 years; brother Ronald Ackerman of Antigo, WI.; and special companion Don Williams of Poultney, VT.
The graveside service will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Cornwall, VT.
