John R. Wesnefski 57, died Saturday morning April 18, 2009 at his home. He was born April 18, 1952 in Meriden, CT the son of the late John & Althea (Lucas) Wesnefski. John grew up in Meriden completing his education in the service. He was a former member of the Meriden Police Department active as a S.W.A.T. team member and firearms instructor. He took early retirement and moved with his family to Vermont. He was currently employed at Porter Hospital in Middlebury. He was a veteran of the Army having served in active duty from 1970-1971 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 50 of Castleton. He was an avid motorcyclist; and he enjoyed car shows and being outdoors. Survivors are his children, John R Wesnefski Jr. of North Clarendon, and Samantha Wesnefski of Hubbardton, his sister, Linda Rohde of Meriden, CT and his nephew David Rhode of Stamford, CT. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2009 at 11 AM. At the Ducharme Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry Furman will officiate.
