Bomoseen, VT Mr. Joseph Paul Jardine Joseph Paul Jardine, 83, died Saturday evening May 12, 2007 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1923 in Rochester, NY the son of the late Nicola & Anna (Mantesuta) Giardina. Joe graduated from East High School, in Rochester, NY, He then received his B.A. in Philosophy from Rutgers University, He subsequently received his Masters in Philosophy from Yale University and then received his PHD in Philosophy from Yale University in 1958. Joe married his wife Barbara (cost) Jardine on August 14, 1965 in Lubbock, TX. They moved to Vermont in 1966. Joe was employed as a Philosophy Professor for many years at Castleton State College retiring in 1985 before moving to VT, he worked for Rhode Island College in Providence, DePaul University, Chicago, IL, and the University Of Texas. He is survived by his wife Barbara, of Bomoseen, his three sons, James, of Austin, TX, Thomas, of Denver, CO, and Paul, of Fair Haven; his two sisters, Carmella Pepe, of Union, NJ, and Ann Prizzi, of Rochester, NY, three brothers, Louis Jardine, of Lubbock, TX, Anthony Giardino, of Toms River, NJ, and Jack Giardina, of Amherst, NJ, and two grandchildren, Barbara Alice Jardine & Anne Marie Jardine both of Austin, TX. His brother, Samuel Giardina, predeceased him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at 10 AM at St. Johns the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, in Castleton. The Rev. Charles Rick Danielson will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday May 15, 2007 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Ducharme Funeral Home located at 1939 Main Street Castleton.
