Castleton Julia Elvira Bishop Julia Elvira Bishop, 94, died Saturday afternoon June 3, 2023, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born June 24, 1928 in Hubbardton, VT the daughter of Velours Christopher White and Lulu Mae (Luther) White. Julia work for many years at the Shoreham CO-OP as an apple packer. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed going to casinos, bowling, fishing and dancing. Survivors are her children, Jay Bishop (Wendy) , of Poultney, Eunice Frost (David), of Fair Haven, Judy Daniels, of Brush Creek, TN, Connie Beebe (William), of Fair Haven, Susan Dayton (Joe), of Fair Haven and Linda Flanders (Richard), of Castleton, Also by her 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Fredrick Bishop, by her sisters, Maudie Bishop, Doris Waite and Luella Ellis and her brother Harold White. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday June 8, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Ducharme Funeral Home Inc., located at 1939 Main Street, Castleton, VT. The Rev. Susan Hardman Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Castleton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
