Bomoseen- Katie O'Connor-West AKA: Koffee / Kathy / Kathleen

Katie O'Connor-West, 62, passed away Saturday October 12, 2024 at the University Of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born February 25, 1962 in Worcester, MA the daughter of James & Grace (Strozina) O'Connor.

Katie Married Frank West on October 9, 2011 in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

With an MBA from Clark University she achieved many successes in her career. National Sales Director of telecommunications for Black & Veatch, Major Account Director at Fairpoint Communications, and External Affairs Director, Enterprise Account Manager, and Senior Account Manager for Verizon.

Katie was an avid ballroom dancer and lover of music, Tony Bennett, Marc Anthony, Salsa. She had a flair for conversation, not just acquaintances; complete strangers on the street would be swept into her world. Katie became a gardener while creating a gorgeous yard display year after year. Her loving dog Dunkin, was alway at her side in the yard and on her boat. The Water Witch of the West. While piloting her boat to the lake, she would greet EVERY person on the shoreline with a smile and a wave.

Kathleen is survived by her three siblings Daniel, Donald and his wife Sandra Eaton, Paul, and sister-in-law Martha. Her oldest brother, James O'Connor Jr., died in 2014 followed by his wife, Wendy, in 2016, and her beloved sister Meg in 2018. She is predeceased by her parents as well.

She is also survived by her three nephews, Patrick, his wife Maylen, Ryan, his girlfriend Linda, and Zachary his girlfriend Alicia; five nieces Patricia Vaillancourt with husband Brandon, Cassandra, Alexandra with husband Rob, Kaitlyn with boyfriend Nick, and Heidi with boyfriend Jacob. Cousins, Steve O'Connor and about 400 others.

In Katie's heart, she had grandchildren; Aria, Levi, Elle, and Rhodes.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 3:30pm on Thursday, October 31 (Halloween) at the Auction Barn, 526 Drake Road in Bomoseen, Vermont.

Burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester, MA after a small service and gathering in Worcester.
