Linda A. (Brown) Squier, 78, of Bomoseen passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 26, 2026 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Linda was born November 17, 1947 to Joseph C. and Patricia (Hurlburt) Brown.
Linda attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Fair Haven High School in 1965. She held Bachelor’s Degrees in both Nursing and Psychology from Castleton State College. She worked for many years at Rutland Regional Medical Center, as well as for Dr. Canciobello, and Rutland Mental Health.
Linda married Joseph Squier in 1999. They enjoyed dancing and joined the dance performance group "The Green Mountain Volunteers.” Linda was a member of several local book clubs and The Friends of the Castleton Free Library. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Castleton. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family and cats.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Squier of Bomoseen; son Christopher Sheldon & Mercedes Whitney of Cuttingsville; daughter Rebecca and Jarod Burtt of Bomoseen; seven grandchildren: Severin Sheldon of Rutland, Connor Watrous of Bomoseen, Genevieve “Niko”, Griffin & Georgiana Burtt of Bomoseen; Finn & Hal Sheldon of Cuttingsville; sister Patty K. Brown of Hubbardton; brother Paul Brown of Bomoseen; two nephews, a niece, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and daughter Stephanie Sheldon.
Calling hours will be 5-7 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Ducharme Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at St. John the Baptist on Friday, May 8 at 11 AM. Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Castleton will take place Saturday, May 9 at noon. Charitable donations may be made to The Castleton Free Library, 638 Main Street, Castleton, Vermont 05735.
