Marcellus Ted L. Brown Jr. 85, died peacefully at his home Friday afternoon July 18, 2014 after a brief illness.
Born April 25, 1929 in Granville, NY he was the son of the late Marcellus L. Brown Sr. and Helen (Woodruff) Brown. He was a graduate of Granville High School, Granville, NY.
Ted married Doris Jones on May 17, 1975 in the Poultney United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Lee Lodge # 30 F & A.M. of Castleton, and enjoyed collecting vintage model cars, stockcar racing, snowmobiling, horse racing and spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.
His great enjoyment has been picking his granddaughters up from school and spending time with them.
Survivors include his wife Doris of Bomoseen, daughters, Pamela Brown of Manchester, Lisa Brown of Rutland and Lori Hanselman of Bomoseen, by his granddaughters, Alyssa and Kiersten Hanselman, by his two sister-in-laws Carolyn Bromley and Elaine Jones, by his several step brothers, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, by his son Daniel Brown who died March 17, 2014, by his twin sister Marilyn A. Brown and step brother Vorman Bromley.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 27, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at the Castleton Federated Church, with the Rev. David Adams pastor of the Poultney United Methodist Church officiating.
