Obituary

Margaret Smith Rayborn 76, died June 29, 2018 at Mountain View Center in Rutland. She was born May 22, 1942 to Lloyd Smith and her mother Louise Potwin Smith who was 1 of 15 children! Margaret graduated from Woodstock High School in the top ten of her class. She married James Rayborn January 1, 1961. They had 3 sons, James and Jonathon, both now deceased and Jeffrey who lives in Rutland, his daughter Nikia and his son Jeffrey who live in Rutland as do several great-grandchildren. Margarets oldest son James and wife, Kimberly gave her two grandsons, James and Michael both of Rutland. She has one older sister, Jeanette Ross of Castleton, Vt. , with whom she loved to yard sale and tail gate picnic. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins and by her friend of thirty plus years Freda Wood. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband James Rayborn and her sons, James and Jonathon and by her brothers, Roger Smith and Ronald Quillia. Maggie and Jimbo were avid fishermen in younger days. She also loved her dogs, to eat, to cook, to talk and make folks laugh, to do crosswords, match her clothes and jewelry to the end at Loretto Home where she was loved and cared for the last three plus years. Shes still remembered by her Curves pals for her bawdy wit and spirit, Margaret will be missed. A Special thank you to her PCP, Dr. Peter Dierksen and all her kind caregivers. Per her wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland County Humane Society at 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
