Mrs. Marjory Prunier died Monday afternoon, December 29, 2008, at Mountain View Center Genesis Elder Care, Rutland after a brief illness. Born March 3, 1921 in Bradford, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late William D. & Blanche (Cilley) Howe. Marjory graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, New Hampshire and Northampton Commercial College in Northampton, Mass. Employment included J. J. Newberry, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Saint Christophers School, and for thirty years, part owner of Pruniers Market. During her sixty years as a housewife she became involved with scouting starting as a Den Mother while her boys went through the program and then continued to round out her twenty years of service volunteering her time as a Den Leader coach. She enjoyed knitting and playing the piano, oboe, and violin. Survivors include three sons, Charles Prunier Jr., of Castleton, William Prunier, of Castleton, and David Prunier of Fair Haven; she is survived by her granddaughter Renee Prunier and grandson Christopher Prunier, both of Castleton; a sister Dorothy Coutermarsh of Lebanon, New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charles J. Prunier Sr. who died December 31, 2005. Calling hours will be held at Ducharme Funeral Home 1939 Main Street Castleton Thursday, January 1st, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m.Thursday at Ducharme Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lawrence, pastor of Our Lady of Seven Dolars Catholic Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Fair Haven.
