BOMOSEEN Mary A. Dumond, 83, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her residence. She was born in West Rutland, VT on December 22, 1929 the daughter of Herbert and Caroline (Gruna) Canavan. Mrs. Dumond attended St. Stanislaus Kostka and West Rutland Schools. Mrs. Dumond was employed many years ago at Rosenblatt Dress Factory and Woolworths in Rutland, VT and Arrow Hart & Hegeman in Hartford, CT. Mrs. Dumond was an avid NASCAR fan. Her favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She was also a Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan. Mrs. Dumond enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and crocheting. In her earlier years she enjoyed singing Country & Western music and playing the guitar. Mrs. Dumond is survived by her daughters, Patricia Siptroth of Hoosick Falls, NY and Joyce Rider of Bomoseen, VT; a sister, Irene Quirk and her husband John of Rutland, VT and a brother Thomas Canavan of Rutland, VT; three grandsons, Paul Siptroth and Chris Siptroth of Hoosick Falls, NY; Keith Rider and his wife Kim of Myrtle Beach, SC; three great grandchildren, Tabitha Siptroth of Hoosick Falls, NY and Katelyn Rider and Kyle Rider of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved cat, Bridget. Mrs. Dumond was predeceased by her husbands, Joseph Dumond and Robert Cameron; two sisters, Anna Canavan and Theresa Johnson; and a brother, Edward Sonny Canavan. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church at 11a.m.. The Rev. Henry Furman as Celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in St. Raphael cemetery in Poultney. Calling hours will take place on Monday evening January 7, 2013 at the Ducharme Funeral Home inc., 1939 Main Street, Castleton, VT.
