It is with great sadness that we share the passing of the matriarch of our Kaszuba family. Mary Kaszuba age 93 entered eternal life on March 18, 2026 in Neenah, Wisconsin after a brief and sudden illness.

Mary was born in Castleton, Vermont on August 25, 1932. She was daughter of William and Matella (Rooney) Van Lew and grew up being a hard-working farm girl. She attended Poultney High School and later went to work for an insurance company with her sister Doris as a key punch operator.

Mary met Valentine Kaszuba at a square dance, dated, and were married for 48 years until Val preceded her in death. They were blessed with three sons. Val’s position with Gulf Oil forced their family to relocate several times, from Burlington, Vermont; Saratoga Springs, New York; Lockport, New York; Rochester, New York; to Hurricane, West Virginia. Mary’s gentle loving spirit kept her family strong and made every new house a home.

After Val’s passing, Mary moved to Neenah, Wisconsin. She attended St. Margaret Mary Parish and met many new friends by joining Catholic Daughters and golfing. She loved watching her grandchildren’s sports. Her knitted and crocheted projects, Afghans, and baby blankets will be treasured.

Mary is survived by her three sons: Lawrence, Robert (Maureen), and Peter (Jennifer); her grandchildren: Jill (Tommy), Nicholas (Andrea), Andrew (Katie), Nicole (Ben), Ryan (Ashley), Dillon, Colton (Samantha), and Jacob (fiancé’ Abbie); 14 great-grandchildren: Little Tommy, Hunter, Lucy, Emma, Ben, Kevin, Clara, Lucas, Brynlee, Kallie, Sophie, Maxwell, Alan and Emily. Also surviving is her loving sister Doris Morse.

In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her two brothers: Jack and Bill Van Lew and her sister Joan Cain.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 9th 2026 at Hillside Cemetery in Castleton, VT with Fr. Julian Asucan officiating. Ducharme Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
