Obituary

Bomoseen, VT Melvin H. Curavoo Melvin H. Curavoo 86, died peacefully Friday evening January 6, 2012 at his home in Bomoseen surrounded by family and friends. Born June 3, 1925 in Hinesburg, VT, he was the son of the late Edward and Myrtle (Fleming) Curavoo. He married Esther Abbott November 19, 1948 together they raised eight children. Melvin was a truck driver for many years, working for Johnson Lumber Company, Lime Kiln and Agway in Middlebury where he retired after nineteen years of service. He then worked at Mellborn Farms for three years until age 84. He is survived by his children, Sandy Putnam and her husband Art, of Addison, Brenda Ruel and her husband Ed, of So. Burlington, Steve Curavoo and his wife June of Corona, CA., Martha Noack and her husband Ron of Ennis, MT., Deb Morcombe and her husband Steve of Bristol, Ed Curavoo and his wife LauraLee of Monkton, Donna Curavoo and her companion Clarence of Rutland, and Mark Curavoo and his wife Heather of Bomoseen, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins, by his in-laws Harriet Curavoo, Fred Aube, Dawn and Roger Thibault. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Esther (Abbott) Curavoo who died February 3, 1994 and by his brothers Richard, Fred and Everett Curavoo, his sisters, Marion (Alger) Mallow and Shirley Aube, Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home 117 South Main Street, Middlebury with The Rev. Marshall Hudson Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. Family and friends may call on Monday January 9, 2012 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rutland Area Visiting Nurse & Hospice at 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, Vt 05701 or to the Foley Cancer Center at 160 Allen Street, Rutland, Vt 05701 or to the American Cancer Society at P.O.
