Rutland Muriel V. McKirryher Muriel V. McKirryher 87, died Sunday Morning November 10, 2013 at Mountain View Center Genesis Elder Care in Rutland. She was born April 10, 1926 in Bridgewater, VT the daughter of the late Floyd and Verna (Miner) Wood. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Ellen (Miner) and Martin Wetherby of Danby. She attended local schools in Danby and attended M.S.J. graduated from Rutland Business College. Muriel was a School Teacher having taught at Rutland Business College for many years and then working at the Rutland Regional Medical Center in diagnostic imaging retiring in 2006. She was a Former member of the D.A.R. and the United Methodist Church Womans Group. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid Yankees fan. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Forrest and her companion Robert Ettori of Shrewsbury, by her daughter-in-law Sherri McKirryher of Rutland. By her grandchildren, Shawn Forrest of Clinton, CT, Anthony Forrest and wife Marsha of Rutland, Kimberly Forrest and companion Lance Ortiz of Chesapeake, VA, Robert Silva and wife Jodi of Castleton and Jason Silva of Rutland, by her great-grandchildren, Stephen Forrest and Bryce Forrest both of Wyoming, Meghan Forrest of Rutland, Aidan Forrest of Virginia, Bridget, Emily and Porter Silva all of Castleton. Also by her great-great grandson Bentley Silva of Castleton. Also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Muriel was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Lawrence J. McKirryher Sr. who died April 21, 1989, by her son Lawrence J. McKirryher Jr., who died January 14, 2005, by her sister Beatrice Andrews and also by her son-in-law Roger R. Forrest who died May 4, 2005. Graveside services will be held on Friday November 29, 2013 at 11A.M. at the East Clarendon Cemetery. The Rev. Deborah Estey will officiate Per her wishes there will be no visiting hours. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Rutland County Humane Society at 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
