West Rutland- Nancy P. Ridlon

Nancy Ridlon of West Rutland passed away on Wednesday October 21, 2026 at home, surrounded by loved ones. She was the last of a family of ten. Nancy had just celebrated her 90th Birthday just sixteen days prior. She was born on October 5, 1936 to Earl F. Spencer, Sr., and Viola Laird Spencer. She attended Rutland Schools and began working at the age of fifteen.

Nancy is survived by her three children, Susan Traegda (Troy) of Enfield NH, David Zawistowski (Cheryl) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Priscilla Hughes (Larry) of Fair Haven, VT. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Brock Richardson, Darryl Zawistowski, and Matt Zawistowski, as well as her best pal – her cat Penny, three special nieces who visited and called her often, Kate McLaughlin, Maureen Pratt, and Shelly Dion, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Edgar M. Ridlon, Jr. on February 24, 2017. Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her nine siblings. Brothers Earl Jr., Norman and Robert. Her sisters Janice McLaughlin, Elaine Ransom, Edna Sargeant, Beverly Wood, Sandra Smith, and Linda Fabian.

Special thanks to her neighbors who always watched out for her. Also Darcy Smith; Rachel and Beth and the entire Bayada team, for their excellent care and compassion for our mother.

At her request, there will be no public services or calling hours.
