Pauline A. McDuff, age 89, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at Mountain View Center Genesis Healthcare in Rutland, Vt. Born in Dixville, P.Que. Canada on November 12, 1927 she was the daughter of Joseph and Bernadette (Gaudreault) Bouchard. She grew up on the family farm in Dixville and received her early education there. Pauline married Gaston McDuff on July 8, 1948 in Dixville. They were married for 56 years when Gaston passed away on August 7, 2004. Her husband, children and she moved to Island Pond, Vt. in 1957 where they raised their family. She became involved in her community through volunteering and working in various areas at St. James the Greater Catholic Church as well singing in the choir. She had many friends who shared her love of Bingo, playing cards and jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her homemade bread and "tourtieres" (meatpies} will be missed by everyone She is survived by her daughters, Jeannine Griffin of Brandon, Vt., Nicole McDuff of Pittsford, Vt., sons Jean McDuff of Rutland, Vt, Laurent and his wife Marie of Pittsford, Vt. Pierre and his wife Julie of Topsham, Me., eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her parents, three children Diane, Daniel, and Roger, her son-in-law Deacon Gary Griffin, a sister Marguerite, and two brothers Marcel and Gilbert. The family will be present on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Curtis Britch Funeral Home in Island Pond, VT from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Burial will be at 3:15 p.m. in Dixville, P.Que. Canada.
