Rutland Pedro Echevarria
Pedro "Pete" Echevarria passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
Born on January 1, 1934 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he came to the United States, settling in New York City as a teenager.
He joined the Marines in 1953, finishing his career as a sergeant in 1957.
Pete attended vocational school in Brooklyn where he mastered the art of printing. Pete went on to own his own print shop in New Jersey.
In 1988, he married Lynn Tuzzo and shortly thereafter they moved to Vermont with their family.
Pete enjoyed trips to Montreal and Atlantic City. He loved going for long walks and could frequently be seen around Rutland City. He especially enjoyed gardening and took pride in his property. Pete was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan.
Pete is survived by three sons: Edward Echevarria of Oklahoma, Eric (wife, Christina) Tuzzo of Vermont and Eugene Echevarria of Maryland; and one daughter, Jeninne Pitts of Vermont. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pete was predeceased by his wife Lynn in January 2019. Per Petes wishes, there will be no formal services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ducharme Funeral Home.
