Hubbardton Philip Donald Mallette Philip Phil Mallette 68 died early Wednesday morning May 21, 2014 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Born December 23, 1945 in Rutland he was the son of Philip David Mallette and Mary (Morrisey) Mallette. Phil was the manager of Pauls Family Pizza for the last 23 years prior to which he worked for Vermont Drilling and Blasting and also had worked delivering sawdust for Lavine Smith. He was the former Fire Chief of the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the Hubbardton Grange; he enjoyed sugaring, gardening, photography and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are his mother Mary Steves, of Hubbardton, his children, Ann Finley and husband John, of Fair Haven and Philip Donald Mallette III and fianc Allison Brooks, of Fair Haven by his sister, Phyllis Burlette and husband Cassius, of Fair Haven, by his brothers, Albert Mallette and wife Patricia, of North Clarendon and Anthony Mallette and wife Sharon of Hydeville, by his grandchildren, Sean and Christopher Finley, Brittany Fila, Nicole and Juliann Mallette, by his great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kalib Folger. Also by his 2 aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father. Ducharme Funeral Home Inc, located at 1939 Main Street Castleton. The Rev. Antony Pittappillil will conduct the prayer service. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 2 P.M.
