March 10, 1959 – July 5, 2024
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Reginald "Randy" Dorr Jr. Randy was born on March 10, 1959, in Rutland to parents, Reginald R. Dorr, Sr. and Jane (Parker) Dorr of Middletown Springs, VT. He graduated Proctor High School in 1978. Prior to his passing, Randy worked at GE and OMYA where he could make even the darkest days brighter. His infectious laugh, smile from ear to ear, positive attitude for life, hobbies, and family were some of his greatest attributes.
Randy was an avid turkey and deer hunter, fisherman, and racing enthusiast. He could often be found at Slate Valley RC track with his racing family as well as Devils Bowl Speedway, where he was crew chief for his brother-in-law and best friends, the #10 mini sprint racing team.
Randy is survived by loving wife, Tammy Dorr, married on August 16, 2015, his daughter, Sydney Sprague, and her husband, Corey Sprague, grandsons Jonathan and Leo Sprague, brother, Kevin Dorr, and daughters, Shannon, Alyssa, Theresa and their children, Kenzie, Colton, Chanelle, and Bri, his stepchildren, Tyler Hock, Eli Brannon, Corinne Williamson, Lee Williamson, Matt Hock, Rachel Hauck, his in-laws and best friends, John Smith Sr. and Carol Smith, brother-in-law, John Smith Jr. and Robin Alt, nieces, Maranda and Grace Smith, and four-legged best friend Max.
Randy is predeceased by his loving parents, Reginald R. Dorr, Sr. and Jane (Parker) Dorr.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Ducharme Funeral Home in Castleton, VT, followed directly at 2:00 PM by a service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, those who wish may make donations to the Edward Kehoe Conservation Camp or charity of choice.
