Robert F. Robie 80 died Tuesday morning April 15, 2014 at his home in Bomoseen. Born November 30, 1933 in Hill, NH the son of the late Lawrence W. Robie and Mary Rose Elizabeth Riley. Robert was raised by his father and step-mother Carolyn Robie. Robert along with his wife, Edith Robie, owned and operated Mount Independence Farm in Orwell for many years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, watching basketball, putting together puzzles, doing Sudoku, and spending time with his family. Bob married Edith A. Blanchard on March 5, 1966. He is survived by his wife Edith Robie of Bomoseen, by his children, Diane Robie of Wallingford; Cindy Robie and Robin Reed both of Hill, NH; Fred Robie of Orwell, Herbert Robie of Ledyard, CT; and Jackie Robie of Bomoseen. By his siblings, George W. Robie of Hill, NH, Ruth Cross of Hill, NH; Helen Smart of Guildhall, VT,; Dorothy Reinert of Cottonwood, Arizona; Julie Loftus of Ledyard, CT; and Mary Fuller of Concord, NH. By his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and step mother and by his son Kevin Robie and his daughter Suzanne Robie, also by his brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Robie. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at 1 P.M. in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. John Longaker pastor of the Fellowship Bible Church will officiate.
