Rose M. Severance 79, died Friday April 19, 2019 at the Pines in Rutland. She was born December 7, 1939 in Winterport, Maine, the daughter of Louis and Marion (Freeman) LHeureux. Rose married Melvin E. Landon Sr in 1959; he predeceased her in 1970. In 1973 she married Ralph Severance and they were divorced in 1978. Rose spent most of her life living at her home in Hubbardton, Vermont with her son. She worked as a factory worker for many years retiring from Rutland Plywood. Rose enjoyed country music, western movies, traveling, spending time with her family and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed the company of her beloved pet cat Thomas. Survivors are her children, Erica Senecal and husband Jeffry , of Castleton and Melvin E. Landon Jr., of Rutland and a stepson Marty Landon of Middlebury. She is also survived by her grandchildren John Landon, Thomas Senecal and Troy Senecal, by her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Pierro, Caleb Landon, Jacob Landon and Neveah Mullen. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Melvin E. Landon Sr., in 1970, her son Frank E. Landon in 2012, her sister Shirley Bent and stepdaughters Ann McNaughton and Marjorie (Bruno) Wood. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 4, 2019 at 3 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
