Bomoseen, VT Mrs. Ruth Hurlburt Mrs. Ruth Hurlburt, 74, passed away early Monday morning January 15, 2007 at her home in Bomoseen with her family by her side. She was born December 23, 1932 in West Castleton, the daughter of the late Clarence & Beatrice (Andrus) Barlow. Ruth attended local schools in the area and was a graduate of Fair Haven High School. She married her Husband Edmund Hurlburt on June 23, 1949 in the Federated Church in Castleton. Ruth was employed for 25 years as head cook for the Castleton School System. Ruth was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church of Fair Haven, a member of the Lone Pine Chapter Order Of Eastern Star # 85 of Castleton Which is now merged with Fair Haven Chapter Order Of Eastern Star # 70, and a regular bowler @ Fair Wood Lanes, and Past President of the Castleton P.T.A. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved to go camping. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 Years, Edmund, of Bomoseen, her son Bernard Hurlburt, of Hydeville, her 3 daughters, Carol & her husband William Butch Dodge, of Hampton, NY, Sheila Hamblin, of Bomoseen, and Heather Hurlburt-Ducharme & her Husband Dan, of Bomoseen, her 7 grandchildren, Shannan Hurlburt, of Hydeville, Trevor Hurlburt, of Blissville, Terry Dodge, of North Granville, Ny, Nathan Dodge, of Riverton, WY, Shane Hamblin, of Bomoseen, and Tyler & Dwight Ducharme, of Bomoseen, also by her 4 great-grandchildren, and also by her sister, Shirley Trombley, Of TX. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Locke, and also by her brothers, Bernard Barlow, Clarence Barlow Jr. and Van Barlow. There will be no visiting hours. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday January 20, 2007 at 11 AM at the Ducharme Funeral Home, in Castleton. The Rev. Marshall Hudson Knapp pastor of the First Congregational Church in Fair Haven will officiate.
