Ruth A. Navin 79, died Monday evening March 16, 2015 at her residence.
Born October 1, 1935 in Rutland she was raised by mother Ada Todriff-LaPlant. She was a graduate of Rutland High School class of 1953.
Ruth married Robert J. Navin on February 6, 1955
Ruth worked at Yankee Medical in Rutland prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the Castleton Womans Club and was a long time member of the Castleton-Hubbardton School Board as well as the Hubbardton Planning Commission. She was an avid reader and spent many hours volunteering at the Castleton Free Library. Ruth enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and dancing in the living room with her grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was spending weekend afternoons on the back deck, having barbeques with her family.
She is survived by her husband Robert J. Navin, by 7 children all of Rutland County, William E. Navin, Robert C. Navin, wife Darlene, James P. Navin, John T. Navin, Charles F. Navin, wife Shelly, Patrick J. Navin, Kathleen M Stiles; by her siblings, Donald LaPlant and Marie Delphia; by her 17 grandchildren, the eldest Jessie Mongeon, her 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Lee Beaudoin and by her siblings Charles, Caroline and Barbara.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 from 2-4 at the Ducharme Funeral Home Inc., located at 1939 Main Street, Castleton with a reception to follow at Trak- Inn on Rte. 30 in Castleton.
