Danby, VT Virginia Tighe, age 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 at her home in Danby, Vt. Special angels came on Christmas Day to take her home. She was surrounded by her family. Virginia was born on April 25th, 1922, to the late William and Viola (Stirk) Frye in Bridgeport, Ct. In 1942, she married Joseph E. Tighe and together they raised four children. She worked at Schick Razor Blades in Milford, Ct. for over 25 years as a floor supervisor. After "retiring" she began working at DiMauro's restaurant in Shelton, Ct. She made many wonderful friends along the way. Everyone enjoyed her sense of humor and her sense of fun. She was an avid reader, a regular at the Milford library. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Though Connecticut was home for most of her life, she came to Vermont to live with her daughter in 2010, and again made friends along the way. Her zest for life made her special to many people. Virginia is survived by three of her children: Sharyn Tighe of Flat Rock, North Carolina; Debra Daly of Danby, Vt. and John Tighe of Topsham, Vt. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Tighe; a son, Richard Tighe ; two sisters, Dorothy Sholtes and Vera Drab: and special friend, Frank Cordiero.
