Obituary
Walter Stanley Kulpa, Jr. - It is with great sorrow to announce that we lost our dear Walter "Butch" Kulpa on August 18, 2023. He was born on December 10, 1941 in Chicopee, MA to Mary Szot and Walter Stanley Kulpa. Graduated high school from Chicopee High School and college from UMASS-Amherst with a degree in mechanical engineering and mathematics. He went into the service with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. With his engineering degree, he went on to work for General Electric in Phoenix, AZ; Cincinnati, OH; Schenectady, NY; Pittsfield, MA; and settled down in Rutland, VT where he was involved in product qualification and later completed his career in management.
He was predeceased by both his parents, a stepfather, Leo Stefanik, his first wife, Donna Lee Anderson, son-in-law, Clarence Barlow and grandson, Cole Stanley Barlow. He also was predeceased by life long friends and family members John Zaremba and his wife Marge who were always by his side supporting him throughout his life. Walter is survived by his second wife Luanne, two sisters, Donna LaBelle and Linda Metras, his loving daughter, Jessika, his granddaughter, Jaycee and stepson Chris.
Walter loved gardening, boating, fishing, and cooking. He once grew a 2.5 pound tomato and several others around that size. He was a Vette Head (Corvette) and owned many models through the years. Walter loved to fish and knew all the local spots to catch the best fish. His true love came in the forms of two orange and white feline furballs, Mittens and Nosey. They had become his life in the later years.
