West Rutland, VT Mr. William H. Cushing William (Bill) H. Cushing 71, died Wednesday evening March 30, 2011 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born February 1, 1940 in Boston, MA the son of Henry & Marjorie (Estabrook) Cushing. Bill graduated Brookline High School, Brookline, MA. He attended the Northeastern University co-op program while working for Brook Molding Corp with his uncle, Reed Estabrook. He then entered the coarse paper business as a sales associate. In 1974 he joined his father in the insurance business before forming his own agency in Acton, MA. He then sold the agency in 1990 and joined some associates in the transportation business until moving to West Rutland, VT in 2006 to live with his son Blake and his family. He was a member of the Vermont Golf Assoc., U.S.G.A. and the Proctor Pittsford Country Club. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling, boating, skiing, genealogy and spending time with his beloved granddaughter. Bill is survived by his two sons, Harvey W. Cushing, of Hamilton, MA and Blake W.Cushing & his wife Jodi Muscatello-Cushing of West Rutland. Three brothers, Kirke Cushing, of Chicago, Il, Reed Cushing, of North Port, FL, Michael Cushing, of North Port, FL and by his granddaughter, Izabel J. Cushing and several nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday April 9, 2011 at 4 P.M. at the Ducharme Funeral Home Inc. located at 1939 Main Street Castleton. Visitation hours will be held from 2 P.M. to the time of the service at 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Golf Association Scholarship Fund in memory of William H. Cushing, Po Box 1612 Station A Rutland, VT 05777.
