Obituary

Bomoseen William Parker Maynard
William P. Maynard, 94, died Sunday afternoon March 19, 2023 at his residence in Bomoseen surrounded by his wife and son, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 3, 1929 in Mansfield, MA, the son of Richard and Maude (Watson) Maynard.
After attending Attleboro High School, Attleboro MA, William entered the United States Marine Corps in 1946, serving two years before reentering military service in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he was stationed at domestic posts through the end of 1955. He returned to his hometown area for education at Rhode Island Radio School, which he expanded upon in following years with a comprehensive course in Non Destructive Testing at Ohio State University as well as Technical Writing and Metallurgy courses at Lowell Tech Institute.
Much of his career involved developing ultrasonic testing procedures for commercial aerospace applications, working for companies such as Engelhard, Martin-Marietta, Rohr Industries, McDonnell-Douglas, and Textron. He also applied NDT to rockets at Cape Canaveral and ran tests on the Apollo Command Module for Avco. He designed and built much of his testing equipment for the demands of each job, much of which is still in use. He also built two houses on his own that are still well maintained sixty years later. For over 45 years he was a member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment. This organization distributed his comprehensive and analytic title Universal Numbers and the Number 9 Destiny of Humankind.
After retirement, he devoted much of his time to medical research in relation to nutrition and organic gardening, including a special project of aronia berry cultivation. He had a keen appreciation for History, Classical Music, and enjoyed using AstroNumerology to create profiles for many people to help them to better understand themselves on the soul level. He put many hours into these labors in the hope that it would benefit the lives of people whose path crossed his. He wanted nothing more than to see positive change in mankind and progressive change in how we function with the Earth.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Christiansen) Maynard, of Castleton, who was blessed to have spent 69 years of marriage with him; by his son, David Maynard of Chelmsford MA; brothers, Donald Maynard and Douglas Maynard of Attleboro, MA., Russell Maynard of Rehoboth, MA.; and sister, Marion Dubois of Bellingham, MA; granddaughters, Tashana Thompson of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Amaryillis Maynard of Oakridge, OR.
He was predeceased by his parents; by his daughter Kathy Maynard; and by his siblings Fred (Miller) Maynard, Kenneth Maynard, Ruth Turgeon, Margret St George, James Maynard, Richard Maynard, and Hilda Williams.
Per his request there will be no visiting hours or services.
